About the Workshop

This workshop focuses on the development and implementation of effective medical simulation centers to enhance healthcare education, clinical training, and patient safety. Participants will explore strategies for establishing simulation infrastructure, developing skilled faculty, applying evidence-based teaching methods, and strengthening interprofessional collaboration to improve clinical learning and teamwork across medical and surgical specialties.

Learning Objectives

  • Design the strategic infrastructure, operational layout, and resource allocation required to successfully build and establish a dedicated simulation center.
  • Develop robust faculty development programs that train clinical educators—especially those from hierarchical backgrounds—to transition from didactic teaching to modern simulation debriefing and facilitation.
  • Apply evidence-based pedagogical principles tailored to diverse medical and surgical specialties to ensure high-fidelity, context-specific learning.

  • Integrate simulation-enhanced interprofessional collaborative practices (IPCP) to expose hidden team hierarchies, dismantle communication breakdowns, and foster mutual respect among multi-disciplinary healthcare teams.
