Dr. Komal Atta is a PhD Medical Education scholar and Director DME, recognized internationally for excellence in health professions education. She is winner of the IMU RHIME Award, recipient of multiple Association for Medical Education in Europe grants, former AMEE EDI Chair, and holds a leadership role with Association for the Study of Medical Education RMG. She brings expertise in curriculum innovation,EPA execution in the global south assessment, and faculty development.

Competence is essential in medical education—but it is not always enough to determine whether a learner is entrusted with greater responsibility. Entrustment decisions are shaped by complex factors, including trust, power dynamics, hierarchy, culture, and the relationships between learners and supervisors.
This webinar will explore what happens beyond the assessment of competence and examine how trust and contextual factors influence decisions about supervision and entrustment. Participants will gain practical insights into promoting fairer, more transparent, and more equitable entrustment practices in medical education.
