AI Will Not Transform Medical Education by Itself: Institutions Will

Madalena Patrício is an Honorary Member and Scientific Consultant at the Department of Medical Education, Faculdade de Medicina, Universidade de Lisboa. She is a former President of AMEE (International Association for Health Professions Education) and previously chaired the BEME Collaboration Board (Best Evidence in Medical Education). She is a Founding Member and Board Member of the AMEE ASPIRE-to-Excellence initiative, which recognizes international excellence in medical education. Prof. Patrício is a Member of the Jury for the prestigious Karolinska Institutet Prize for Research in Medical Education and currently chairs the AMEE Miriam Friedman Ben-David Award Committee. She also contributes to international accreditation as a member of the AQU (Catalan University Quality Assurance Agency). She holds the title of Emeritus Professor at the University of São Paulo, Brazil, and is a member of the UNESCO International Council of the Education Department in Bioethics. Her areas of expertise include OSCE, Humanization of Medicine, Ethics, Evidence-Based Education, Community Teaching, and Social accountability.
